ATTORNEY PROFILE - BILL KAMPF

Bill Kampf’s practice focuses solely on labor and employment law.  He represents employees in all facets of litigation, from inception through trial and appeal.

Bill has represented individuals and companies of all sizes in a wide range of state and federal employment law disputes involving issues of wrongful discharge, race, age, gender, disability, and national origin discrimination, breach of contract, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims.  Bill has successfully litigated and arbitrated numerous employment law cases. Bill also has extensive experience representing his clients before state and federal administrative agencies, including the EEOC, DFEH, and DLSE.  For employers, Bill focuses on preventative measures and provides counsel on how to avoid employment disputes and wage/hour issues. Bill also reviews and drafts employee handbooks and related personnel policies.

Prior to co-founding Kampf Whang LLP, Bill worked in Orange County and Los Angeles for two nationally recognized labor and employment law firms, where he represented many Fortune 1000 companies. Bill also worked for a boutique Los Angeles law firm where he represented small and medium sized companies, as well as numerous individuals and entrepreneurs.

Bill was named a “Super Lawyers” Southern California Rising Star in 2007 and 2008, an award provided to approximately 2.5 percent of the best up-and-coming attorneys in Southern California who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Bill is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, as well as a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association.

Bill is a 1998 graduate of Temple University (B.A., magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and a 2001 graduate of Temple University School of Law.  During law school, Bill interned for the National Labor Relations Board, Region 4 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a Board Agent.

ATTORNEY PROFILE - ARTHUR WHANG

Arthur Whang represents both employees and employers in all facets of employment law, litigation, and advice and counseling.

Arthur has represented clients of all sizes, from individuals to Fortune 100 companies, in a wide range of disputes involving issues of wrongful discharge, discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, retaliation, leave law, trade secrets, and wage and hour claims.  Arthur has successfully, personally litigated numerous employment law cases in front of California’s courts and administrative agencies. For his employer clients, Arthur also provides effective advice and counseling on how best to position companies to reduce their risk of litigation and exposure, and how most effectively and efficiently to handle a myriad of day-to-day employment law situations, including hiring, firing, compensation, discipline, termination, contract formation, and leaves of absence, among others. Arthur also reviews and drafts employee handbooks, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, and related documents. Arthur also has provided sexual harassment and other employee and executive trainings to numerous employers in the apparel, communications, pharmaceutical, and banking industries, among others.

Prior to co-founding Kampf Whang LLP, Arthur practiced employment law and complex commercial litigation for large national and international law firms.

Arthur is also a certified criminal trial lawyer, and has first-chaired several jury trials to successful verdicts in Los Angeles County’s criminal courts.

Arthur received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Executive Director of the Barristers’ Council, Georgetown’s appellate and trial advocacy governing body.
